  I agree with many other reviewers that the product selection here is really second to none - they carry some really awesome products that it’s hard (if not impossible) to find anywhere else. That being said, in my past few visits, I’ve noticed a real lack of customer service. Today I spent 10 minutes in the store, and not a single employee (I passed a few) greeted me or asked if I needed a hand. I also heard a couple of coworkers bickering at the till. It really turned me off from shopping there, especially since I feel their competitors really excel in this area. Amaranth AL staff... say hello! Smile! Don’t seem so hard up! For some of us customers it really does make it or break it in terms of where we shop.

  I've been shopping at Amaranth for a variety of items for years. They are one of the best I know of for stocking lots of good quality gluten-free options. And, though they are smaller than the big Community Health and Planet Organic shops, they do carry some items that you cannot find at these other major stores. I also really like their personal care section, as there are some amazing organic products at much better prices than even the crappy, artificial stuff one finds at Walmart, etc. Helpful, friendly staff who will happily run to the back to check if an out-of-stock item has come in. The only reason I dock one star is that their prices can be inconsistent, as in some items are comparable to or better than other stores, but sometimes significantly higher; because of this, I'll go to the other shops for these really pricey items.
