Reviews about Aspen Wine & Spirits

Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff! For your run-of-the-mill stuff, prices are generally a little higher than Signal Hill Superstore's Liquorstore and the Solo Liquor in Montreux, but the selection is top-notch (their range of Scotch and Irish whisky is extraordinary - they do regular tasting events that are more than worth the price of admission!) and their hours of business are the best in the area. If you like your Irish whisky, this is the place to go in Aspen Hills. Definitely recommended!

Worst of the worst service. Will never go back. It was weird enough when The assistant manager asked for my friend in the car to come in to show his ID even though I was the one making the purchase, he also denied my canadian citizenship as my ID because he has apparently never seen one before, and even with all my credit cards, alberta health card, temp license, anything with my picture and name on it, he still insisted it wasn't valid. Asked me why my citizenship card doesn't have expiry date??? As if Canada is going to revoke my citizenship once it's "expired"??? This is the second time we were not able to make purchase due to idiots who think they have power. I drove there once with my niece who was underaged. I told her to wait in the car as I was getting some scotch for myself and a guy insisted on seeing her ID. After explaining my story, he basically told me to leave and that I cannot make any purchase because I had a minor with me (who never even set foot in the store). So you're telling me, if i brought my 3 year old daughter with me, I won't be able to make any purchases either??? Maybe these guys are going for the "we're heavily againest minors drinking" look, but in reality it seems they're just looking for ways to kick out customers so that they don't have to use their little brain to figure out how much change they owe. Not to mention the overpriced drinks.

A liquor store is so much more than cheap pricing, it's about selection, knowledge and service, and in these areas Aspen Wines excels. Their selection ranges from the usual fare to exceptional examples of wines, champagne, and spirits that rivals much larger locations. They have the resources to locate special items not usually found on local shelves and the knowledge to guide you if so required. If you truly care about the wines or spirits you drink then this is a place you should visit. Not all of the staff is fully knowledgeable but there is always at least one person on shift that should be able to help, just ask, I know I do simply because you can always learn or discover something from others with similar interests.
